The Cloud 9 Team
All our carers are directly employed by Cloud 9 on a regular basis. We recruit our staff exclusively on the basis of ability and do not discriminate on grounds of age, race, gender or sexual orientation. We are proud to pay all our staff the Real Living Wage (or above) and are credited by the Real Living Wage Foundation.
We support our carers to grow and develop their skills with a comprehensive training programme. All new recruits undertake Induction Training before they begin work in the community. This covers the basic skills they need to have as carers, including how to move people safely and how to protect people from harm. Carers can then take the Level 2 Diploma in Health and Social Care; over two thirds of our staff hold this qualification.
More experienced carers are able to take their Level 3 Diploma and our Registered Manager is qualified at Level 4. We also provide opportunities for staff to learn new skills and update existing training with a programme of short training courses throughout the year.
Our care teams work throughout the week, including weekends and public holidays, offering a service from 7am through to 11pm. Our office is open from 9am to 5pm, Monday to Friday, but a member of the management team is always on-call to deal with any out-of-hours problems.
